Type of a scam Employment
I was contacted by this company to say they could find me work as a notary in my area. It would be simple, use an app and accept the job. Te app stated where, when and how much it would pay for that particular notary process. If you were interested you had 10 minutes to accept or it would move on to the next person to pick up. I tried calling and never got an answer to ask questions. Then when I emailed Karen Logan she emailed me right away with the information I asked for. I specifically asked about if I needed to download the app before or after payment. She stated I would download it once I was given a job to accept. THAT SHOULD HAVE threw up flags right then. Here are her exact words, "Dear Janice,
You’re all set. We have received your documents. Thank you very much for choosing us, we look forward to working with you! Stay safe & healthy during this current pandemic! Sincerely, Karen Logan Another Lie, "You will be contacted once we have signings in your area. Signing order notifications will be sent via text messages and email based on your member profile coverage areas and good standing within our performance rating system. You may accept or decline signing orders as your schedule allows. If you decline signing order or do not accept it within 10 minutes, we will send this order to another notary in your area.
Thank you for choosing www.HireNotary.com

My last correspondence to Karen Logan was, "Hi Karen, I was just wondering if you are still in business with Hire a Notary? I was receiving text messages to join your group and after I made the payment I have not heard from you at all. Just really wondering have I been scammed at this point. Usually you would keep in touch even if there weren’t any documentation to notarize. A response would be nice at this point.
Thank you, Janice
I feel like I have been scammed and taken advantage of by something I thought was legitimate and legal.
