My son and I searched for a beagle puppy and this website came up. The site looked professional. We filled out our contact information and they texted us back the following day. We were texting back and forth throughout the day about the puppy. We asked for a video and they sent us a video of a beagle puppy that looked like the photos on the website. I asked how it would be transported and they said by ground transportation. I asked how the dog would go to the bathroom and be fed. They said it would take 2 days to get to us. They needed my name, address, email and phone number. They wanted to be paid via zelle or google pay.
They asked for a zelle payment and said the dog would be shipped the next day. They needed the payment in full. They said that they would send the shipping information today and call us regarding the dog. I asked to have them call and tried calling.
When I tried calling they said they were at the vet and would call in a bit. They never got back to me via call or text. When I tried calling a couple hours later the phone was no longer in service and they stopped texting back and communicating.
I have sent them $695 through my checking account using Zelle. Zelle nor my bank will refund me the money. I have read articles about how scammers drain all the money in a person’s checking account because they have so much information through the transaction.
