Type of a scam Investment
I was helping my sister in WV buy a home for her and her 2 kids. She did not qualify for a loan so I searched for a private investor and found Joseph on Craigslist. His ad said, he had a list of homes he was willing to buy or if you find a property to call him and he would buy the home and do a Rent to Own. All he needed was the $2000 deposit which would go towards the principal. He made his money by marking up the interest 10%. If the deal falls through or if we or he backs out for any reason he would refund the money. He was good at responding via phone and text. Then when we agreed he would refund the money he text once to say it was on its way. Then when I told him I still never got it, he text back and said he wasn’t sure what happened and he would personally take care of it. I never received my money. He stopped answering my calls and texts.
