Working together, Haciendas Cupulas Blue(HCB) and International Vacation Group(IVG) gave us a timeshare presentation at Gusto’s Restaurant in Cozumel Mexico. We signed a nine page contract, and paid $12,000.USD to HCB, for a membership in IVG, HCB was to be our home resort, and Royal Bay Trust Group (RBTG) was to close escrow on our existing timeshare. RBTG, offered a complete full refund of the $12,000USD if closing didn’t take place by the specified time.
90 days later IVG is demanding $999.USD for a username and password. No fees were listed in the contract. The IVG contract also guaranteed a full refund upon failure of the contract to work as stipulated. They claim if we wire them an additional $3,200.USD first, to Mexico, they will wire us back our $12,000USD refund. RBTG did not close on our existing timeshare according to the contract. RBTG claims if we pay $7,600.USD by wire to Mexico first, they will close escrow on our existing timeshare. No fees were listed in the contract.
Hacienda Cupulas Blue took our $12,000USD, and we did not get our membership into IVG and there is no buyout from RBTG, and as of yet no refund.
Stay away from Hacienda Cupulas Blue! This was a scam!
