Owner placed postcards advertising snow removal service and fall lawn cleanups in our neighborhood’s mailboxes. Spoke to him on the phone and he was very earnest and knowledgeable about what would need to be done. Provided pricing for neighborhood street and individual driveways. Kept in touch, answering my phone calls and emails. However, after initially being responsive, texts to him all started to fail (wouldn’t go through to his cellphone). Once everyone had paid, he stopped answering most phone calls or responding to voice mails or emails and eventually stopped answering all over a 2-3 week time period. He began leaving recorded messages on his phone to say when he would be flagging driveways or doing fall cleanups. He didn’t follow his schedule and did some of the work, but not all and was unreachable. The first snowfall arrived several days ago and he came very, very late and plowed the street and most, but not all, of the houses. Nothing was complete. His message said his trucks had broken down and he would be back the next day to finish, but he didn’t show. 2 days later his recording stated he had filed for bankruptcy. We have since learned that other neighborhoods have had similar results with this company in the past. No one has been reimbursed any money they had paid.
