Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Initial means of contact Email

Was contacted about a job through indeed. Job responsibilities included booking flights, hotels and charitable donations in their name. Was mailed a check and told to deposit it. Then was asked to take out two money orders for $1000 each (blank) and then get $300 worth of Walmart gift cards. Then had to fedex the money orders with receipts to address that I listed. Name of Peter Williams. Then the bank called me and told me that it was a fraudulent check and now I’m out $2400

Initial means of contact Email

I applied for a job thru indeed.com and got an email back from someone else looking for an Admin Assistant working from home. I’ve attached the emails back and forth as I was hoping it was for real. When I received a check for over $2300 (I never met this person, filled out any paperwork for employment, etc.), I took it to a bank (not mine) and the Bank Manager informed me that it was definitely a SCAM, he kept the check and will get in touch with the bank the check was drawn on. Mean people suck!

GROSFELD FOUNDATION is a SCAM. I just went thru the same thing. Simon Gauthier | Director | Grosfeld Foundation keeps emailing me and just sent me a check for $2300 to cash, then after it clears, I’m to take out some of the cash and BRING it to an orphanage. I don’t know of ANY orphanages that are in my area and this guy also asked me to find flights and hotels but not to book yet. I brought the check to a bank (not mine) and asked for a manager. YUP! It’s a SCAM and a FAKE check. They are going to contact the bank it was drawn on. MEAN PEOPLE SUCK!

I got the same emails..I’ve been trying to figure out if this was a scam for about a week with his name and picture being on the Grosfeld website I was thinking maybe legit until I got that cashiers check in the mail. Glad I found this post.

I got the same exact email. If you still have the check, take it to a bank and tell the manager it’s a SCAM. They will file the complaint and contact the bank it was drawn on.

Type of a scam Employment

I recieved an email from a employer who got my resume off indeed asking me to personally email my resume to Paul Robsham at [email protected]

I received a couple emails back that seemed like legit questions an employer would ask. Then I recieved a cashiers check and an email telling me to deposit it into my bank account wait 24 hours then send him pricing on airline tickets and hotels but don’t book yet. I called to verify the check with the bank it was from they told me it was a fraudulent check not to cash it. I also reached out to fedex security so they know this is a scam artist.

Yes, it’s a SCAM. I got the same exact email. If you still have the check, take it to a bank and tell the manager it’s a SCAM. They will file the complaint and contact the bank it was drawn on.
