I got a call from a young-sounding person. She said, "Hi, Grandma!" I asked her who she was calling for because I don’t have grandkids. She kept repeating, "You’re my grandma" and then she hung up.

I have been called several times within the past week with this scam. The caller (sounds like the same voice) always starts the call with "grampa Tony". I have answered with a made up name of my grandson. The caller goes on to explain that he was at his friends wedding or funeral and was involved in a car accident . He was injured, was administered a breathalyzer and is now jailed for DUI. He says he has been assigned an attorney and will transfer the call to the attorney. The only time I followed the call this far, the attorney (who claimed to be Alan Wallace) was representing my grandson and since he had not been in trouble was able to get bail down from $7599.00 to $2400.00. At this point I hung up. The surprise was I was called back and the voice said: "Granpa, why did yo hang up?" I hung up.
