Total money lost $740
Type of a scam Travel/Vacations
I received a phone call from the company offering a vacation to Cancun and Puerto Rico for 999.00 in exchange for attending a timeshare meeting. I have done these before and thought it would be valid so agreed to the charges.
The company asked me to send them a copy of my ID and then sent me paper work to sign to agree to the contract. At that point I started getting curious and suspicious of the ordeal. I tried to cancel the package with them and they agreed to giving me back $500 of the $740 that I had spent with them. They stated that the refund needed to be approved by the manager and they would call me back. I never received a call. I called back and then the manager was on vacation. I called back and was told he was busy and never received a phone call back.
I ended up filing a dispute with my bank for the charges. I received a phone call from GCV and they stated that they denied my refund because I verbally agreed to the charges and that my bank will be cancelling the request for a refund. I rehashed the story to them stating GCV agreed to do a refund and they stated because I did a dispute with my bank, they are not willing to work with me any longer.
I called my bank back, they have no record of speaking with the company or any information about them denying my request.
