Type of a scam Online Purchase
Found a website claiming to have 3 Jardine parrots for sale. Contacted them via the form on the website asking for more information. Got a phone call from a man with a slight accent calling himself Harrison . Said he would ship the bird to us for nine hundred and texted me pictures. We agreed to put a deposit of four hundred and fifty down on the bird. He then informed us that we had to go to Walmart and make a "business payment." After a lot of sketchy explanations it turned out he wanted a moneygram. I requested he open a paypal and he claimed it didn’t work. He tried very hard to convince me he was honest and they had a satisfaction guarantee. I refused to send money that way and we terminated the conversation. Later that day I found a video of a Jardine on instagram that he had stolen the pictures of the supposed bird from. It was obviously the same bird as all the toys in the cage were the same. I didn’t lose any money but I’d hate for someone else to.
