Type of a scam Yellow Pages/Directories
Replying on behalf of my employer, a small Plumbing Company in Oshawa, ON.
On November 19, 2015 we received an invoice in the mail dated July 7, 2015 from GoldPages Inc. The return address was PO Box 96558, Montreal, QC H4E 4P3 but no business phone number. The invoice was for Advertising (Top Priority Bold Company Profile 1 Yr) $693.49 (including a 5% discount), plus a late fee for 3 mths overdue of $43.80. There was also a note on the invoice for Early Termination of Contract and fee of $75 being waived.
We used to advertise in the Gold Book but have not done so since September 2012 and last year cancelled our advertisement in the Yellow Pages as well.
When we received the invoice, I tried to find a phone number to contact the company and then discovered that it was probably a scam so no payment was sent.
