Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I was initially contacted by a connection on LinkedIn. I was sent an email to accept an offer for a Mystery Shopper position. I received a cashier’s check for $2,800 and deposited it. Thankfully, I received an email several days later instructing me to purchase $2,500 worth of Wal-Mart gifts AFTER the cashier’s check was taken back out of my account. Had I followed their instructions, I would of been out $2,500. I read reviews of this GFK company and heard good things but this must of been someone using a scam with their company name. Wow, do I feel stupid. This is the signature file from the email:
