My 92 year old mother has been scammed by this contractor – General Construction (Roofing & Steel Coating). no address on business card, only phone number given above. He drove into her driveway in dark tan, new pick up truck with name on the truck door. He told her he was in the neighborhood, checking on roofs that need repair. He asked if he could take a look at her roof. She said yes. He came back & told her he could repairs the areas that were needed. She told him ok to do work, but how much? He said he couldn’t tell until he had done the work! When he came back for payment, the told her it would be $2,500. for the work he just preformed. She told him that was kind of steep. He said, sorry mam, that’s what you told me to do & that is the cost. Check was cashed about an hour after he left her home. I have a copy of the cashed check. She informed me of this action six days after the event, when I was ready to pay her bills.
