Type of a scam Identity Theft
There were some errors on the PS4 and the laptop. A scanning service was recommended and looked like it came from Microsoft. When she clicked on it, it routed her to Gemini Techies. Told her that her IP address was compromised and recommended a level 7(?) scan. They told her that her credit card info was hacked into. They asked for her bank account info because they didn’t take credit cards. When she heard it was $169.99, she said stop but they said it was already half done and wouldn’t stop the scan.
We put a block on the charge to her account and cut the card number.
