They take over your computer and request your bank account info for payment. They will only take bank accounts. They call relentlessly even after we had cancelled the bank account.

Pop-up message sent, warning about computer problems. Misled to believe dealing with Microsoft. Scammer claimed that malware was detected on my computer. Asked for remote access, diagnosed non-existent problem and wanted payment for unnecessary services.

I was working on my computer when I received a message from Micro Soft, stating that my computer was in jeopardy, and a virus was detected. My computer was frozen. For a fee of $270, they would have remote access to my computer, which I allowed. They said they detected Trojan and Zeus viruses. They told me that someone was trying to steal my IP address, and they used scare tactics to convince me. I became suspicious, and I stopped payment on my account. Then I discovered that they downloaded my documents onto a USB flash drive. I had to change my bank account, cancel all credit and debit cards, and I enrolled in Identity Guard. I paid to have my computer scanned and cleaned. They have a website, and a support phone number, and appear to be legitimate. I feel so foolish and worried!
