Type of a scam Employment

Received an email from a "recruiter" to let me know that my resume from indeed.com fit what they were looking for at the GEA group. They then wanted me to add "[email protected]" to my google hangouts list for an initial job description and potential interview. Added the email and had a text interview. I got the job after a 20 min session (conversation is attached). They said they would send me check to set up my in home office and for supplies. They told me I had to sign the next day, which was a Saturday at 8AM. I told my family about the new job and they said it sounded fishy. Looked into it further and figured out it was a scam.
