Received phone call–on my cell phone–saying I had unpaid bill at the hospital we use and had bills pending. They had my phone number, which is private but given to hospital, the correct name of department and the exact amount of an old bill. Luckily I’d paid the bill 2 weeks before and didn’t think I owed any more, but they wanted me to pay right then so we didn’t get sent to collections. When I called the hospital, NO bill due.
This is a scam to take money from people for a bill that doesn’t exist–ours was over $1000 dollars.
