Type of a scam Online Purchase

I received a message from sprint saying charges had been added to my cell phone account. I had no prior contact with this company. When I researched the company to call about the charges I saw that they are headquartered in Malaysia, have an office in the US in California, and have a company phone number out of Ohio. The person I spoke with told me that Sprint sends them customer numbers to sign up for the service. The sprint customer service manager confirmed that this is done. Neither company wants to take responsibility for allowing me to be charged by this company via Sprint. The message stated that I was charged five dollars, but the sprint customer service supervisor saw that I was charged $20.00. Although sprint refunded the money and blocked this service from my line for the future, both companies are participating in this scam. Sprint was fined$105 million dollars for allowing cramming charges in 2014, and I am having the same issue in 2019. Sprint will not prevent this company from scamming its customers at large, and instead each customer must contact sprint to have the service blocked.
