Type of a scam Online Purchase
I saw and advertisement for a piece of clothing that I had been looking for. It advertised that for a limited time you could get this item for the shipping price only of $1.95. Of course I was suspicious & looked for all the fine print to see what the catch was. There was nothing on there, just an introductory offer to new customers to promote their business. So I purchased the item for $1.95. When I received my email receipt, I saw that I was charged $46.95. $1.95 for the item and $45.00 for a membership! I did not want a membership. The email also said that I had 24 hours to cancel my order if I changed my mind. Needless to say that I called to cancel my order.First she asked, why would I want to cancel the membership, it was such a good company & there were so many things available. After telling her no multiple times, she then said I "misunderstood" the email. She said I could cancel my "order for the item", but not the membership. I argued with her that this was a scam. She offered me $11.25 back since I was not satisfied. She was very obviously changing the story as she went on.
