Type of a scam Travel/Vacations

My wife and I were invited to a "VIP Travel Presentation" hosted by VIP Travel October 2014 where they offered us a cruise and a 2 nights stay at a hotel for free with the initiation cost and processing fee of $414.00 total. They promised that those would be the only costs to us and only allowed us to pay by cashier’s check or money order. The check was addressed to Fun Times Travel and the travel voucher was to be provided by Fun Times Travel as well. However, when I tried to use the voucher a week later, the company went back on their word and tried to charge us an extra $1,600 ($599 for the cruise and $499/person for the hotel). The only email they ever sent us was a form to fill out our credit card information.

I understand their terms and conditions in that refunds will be provided through travel credit however neither company acted in compliance with the Good Faith law. They should have stated that extra booking fees would be charged when making reservations instead of promising us these free trips with the one time charge of $414.00. They are trying to use "specific contractual terms in isolation in order to refuse to perform their contractual obligations" to me. After the fact, I researched both companies and have read that they have done this to numerous other customers as well.

These companies, especially Fun Times Travel, are dishonest and have no credibility to their names.
