My business partner and I just registered our LLC with the state of Florida two weeks ago. Yesterday we both received a letter in the mail from Florida Corporate Compliance saying we need to file a Certificate of Status form. It included an envelope for us to mail them $69.50 to prove that we are incorporated and authorized to do business in the state. The seal on the letter was a red flag, the mailing address is a PO Box, and stated it required a prompt response.
