Type of a scam Employment
I responded to a job posting ad on Workopolis. The company was looking for an administrative assistant to help set up a satellite office in my city. The job supposedly pays $1000 weekly. I responded and received a two minute "pre-screen" phone call from someone from the company asking me a couple vague questions. Then I received an email offering me the job and wanting my full legal name, address, and phone number, so they can mail me a check to start purchasing office supplies and furniture. The website looks fake, the company is not located at the address provided and unable to verify any of the information on the ‘fake’ website, and the only information about this company is job postings.
