Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

Received an email from "Kenneth Jessel" CFOSP & Purchasing Manager Florida Int Univ(FIU). The email included an attachment that was the corporate profile & bank references to establish a credit line. Credit request was for $30,000(30k). Once credit was granted a price quote was then sent with the expectations that a Purchase order would follow once they confirmed the pricing. At that point we contacted FIU and asked for Kenneth Jessell at which time they pointed to the fact that their email ends in ".edu" After we told the scammer we were on to him he called our office very rigorously for an additional 48 hours.
