I received a call with a local area code stating they were calling from the firefighters association and asking for a $15.00 contribution. The caller did say “Can you hear me?” And I stupidly said yes. He also asked if I would commit to a $15.00 contribution and I again said yes. He transferred me to another person, their “accounting department” and the women there got my name and address. I asked where she was calling from, because the line was horrible, and she said Washington DC, which of course made no sense based on the area code. I called the number back and it said it was disconnected. It happened very quickly and I felt like I didn’t have much time to think about it. We also contribute to the local rescue organization, and I think that threw me off for a minute. I’m hoping nothing comes of this, but thought I would let you know.

Caller claimed he was calling for Firefighters fund. I agreed to a $20 pledge that would be sent to my address. The caller ID read FedEx ground. When I redialed the phone number it was an invalid number. I’m not sure if this is a scam,but am reporting it in case.
