Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Our company was contacted by a woman who informed us that her son had received a check for $9,500 from us, and she thought he was being scammed. She gave me the check #, which was actually only 2 away from our checks numbers, however we have the blank check and it has not been written. She asked what color our checks were, and I said Blue, she stated it was tan. She faxed us a copy of the check and it looks almost identical as ours, including signature. Once you look at it closer, you can see there is no phone number on check, font’s are just a little bit different, and signature is close, but not exact. She is sending us the original check with the envelope it was received in, and has forwarded me all of the emails and communication that was exchanged.
