I was sent an email to be a brand ambassador for Field Agent. The contact name for this mystery shopping scam is Jim Smith and his email is [email protected] The email looked totally legitimate. I did research and Field Agent is legitimate and I found a linked in message thanking Jim Smith for growing their business. He originally sent a message out of linked in under Julie Todd’s account telling people that she was looking for people for part time work. Jim provided the following website to register for the job.

I completed the registration with only name, address, mobile number and birthdate. Then, I had to complete a form to submit ( link below) my card card information so he could deposit the money to carry out my shopping task and payment for the shop.

The mystery shopping test was to go to Best Buy and purchase 2 $ 500 gifts cards totaling $ 1,000 and do a full report on the store cleanliness, employee professionalism etc.

I was mislead because I asked for the next step in the shop and Jim told me that I had to take pictures of the gift cards but I should scratch off the pin send the gift cards and receipt so I could be ready for the next task.

Email Jim sent

Once you purchase the merchandise, you’ll complete your task by shipping out the merchandise for Audit

I have not back from Jim since Dec 2nd and received no information on shipping audit the cards for audit. I called my card card company to let them know that I believe I was a victim of a mystery shopping scam and asked them to put a restriction on my card so that Jim Smith can’t access the card to make more deposits. The bank did tell me that the deposit was made by Bank of America. I also called the Sephora gift card department and they told me that both gift cards were used to makes purchases online to clear out the cards on Dec 4th,2019.

I found very interesting tactics that were used to keep me to updated during the shop. Jim emailed me and told me that I have to do the shop as soon as I receive the money. Also, he wanted me to text him as soon as I made the purchase and kept texting me until I answered him. That seemed to be so aggressive; like he didn’t trust I would complete the shop even though I had the money on my credit card to handle the payment.

Thanks so much for your investigating Jim Smith To find him and put an end to his mystery shopping scam that has effected good people out of their hard owned money.

I am unemployed and looking for some extra work so I went through the trouble of downloading field agent app and completing two jobs that easily took two hours each and required me to drive for a lousy $7 each. After two weeks of waiting to get paid, they were both denied and they refused to pay me. Save yourself the aggravation. Total scam!

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I received a linked in message from Zakeia L. Thomas about a field agent job. I received an email from Gary Blanton (365 52nd Street, New York City, New York, 10014). He informed me I was approved as a secret shopper and would receive a job in the mail. I also received text messages from the unknown number indicating that mine assignment is on the way. Within a few days, I received three checks ($985 each) in the mail with instructions to go to the Apple Store and purchase two gift cards and purchase a money order for American Cancer Society. I would make $300 out of the $2,955 received in the mail. I check the ScamPulse.com website for fear that this was a scam.

Type of a scam Credit Cards

my friends Linkedin was hacked and I received a message from her to join FAMR and there was a form and that someone would be contacting you very soon to see if you quality to make $1000 / week. I know these agencies exist but the money seemed a bit high. I filled out the form with basic information and of course received an email saying congratulations and then finally received another today stating I would need to complete a form that asked for my SSN and credit card details. I knew for sure it was a scam. The website was not on the email, but they were representing the company, so it seemed.
