Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

The invoice/application claims we purchased a license for a two-way radio license call sign five years ago. We are a school and would have no need for such a product. The invoice claims we need to send in $124 in order to make any modifications to our license, including cancelling it. They threatened an $8,000 fine if we didn’t make any necessary changes. It include a return envelope, prompting us to send them a payment. The report attached included our school name, address, phone number, fax number, and GPS coordinates corresponding with our neighborhood.

Our accounting department brought me an invoice that they were unsure of. After doing a google search, the remit address is a residential home.

Total money lost $500

Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

Received letter saying that if I didn’t renew I’d be fined so much, a large amount actually. The form did look legit, so sadly I paid as well as late fees they said I owed. About $500. Months go by, I get a Notice of Dismissal Letter. I knew I had paid them. I knew they had received two checks from me and cashed them. So I tried to call and see what was going on, well no one answered and there was no voicemail, thought this was weird. I had a bad feeling this was a scam, so I googled it and come to find out I was scammed.
