Type of a scam Government Grant
They informed me that I had been picked by the government to receive 9,800.00 grant money that did not have to be paid back. I could receive the money through Western Union or Money Gram through a store that participated in these. I chose Wal-Mart. But since Wal-Mart did not participate in their program they gave me a number I would have to call back that would authorize release of the money to them. 512-312-4090 is the call back number.They also gave me an activation code that I had to give when I called the call back number. I spoke to a female Florence and when she put me on hold to go look for my file I waited few minutes hung up and called back. A male answered, he gave his name as Sam Wilson. He asked if this was my 1st or 2nd time to call. I told him 2nd that I got cut off 1st time. He transferred me back to the female. She started telling me the same things all over and then we got to part where I would go to Wal-Mart to get money once it was wired there. I would have to have a application card and register by using that card. But Wal-Mart didn’t have those cards so I would have to buy one from them for $260.00 and on this card I would also have to fill in my bank information on the registration card. Then I hung up.
