Type of a scam Tax Collection
The scammer went by the name Officer John Harris he said he was a federal officer of the state of Washington and gave me his office address, precinct nunber, badge number (IR2014-82), a case number (DC7479), and my “warrant ID number” (0010951462300). He told me I owe taxes from 2012 through 2018 and have a federal warrant out for my arrest unless I pay the amount of $1,263. He told me I could not end the phone call or get my warrant canceled until I paid some sort of amount. The fact of the matter is, I didn’t graduate or turn 18 until 2013 and my dad claimed me on his taxes until 2016. I filed taxes once in my whole life and always paid in an additional $10 for state and federal just in case and always got it back. I’ve only been employed for a total of about 1 year since 2012 and I was a heroin addict for the other 4 years. I’ve been in recovery for about 4 months now and remained unemployed to focus on my pregnancy and my recovery so I know this is a scam. I hope I’ve helped others avoid these monsters!!
