My mother receives multiple calls from a male with a strong Nigerian accent who said that he is from the Federal Commission. His supervisor is Marvin Smith. The male caller said that his agency is investigating telephone scams and those who fell victim to these scams. My mother told the caller that she needs to check and confirm the agency that he is calling from and asked for the phone number. The phone number provided is 1-876-871-3807. When we Googled this number, multiple people reported this number as a potential scam. We are not sure how this person got my mother’s number since she has an unlisted number.
