Type of a scam Government Grant
I was contact by an individual with a heavy accent using a number from Washingto, DC telling me that I have been selected to recieve a government grant of $9,000 which I would not have to pay back. They gave me a code and a telephone number and was ask to contact a Mr. Max Wilson. I called the number and they answered saying that I had reache the Federal Bank in Washington, DC. He continue to ask me if I want to receive the money in my bank, credit card, or cash. Thinking this to be a scam I answered… cash. He then told me to go to the nearest MoneyGram, Western Union, or Walmart while he was still on the line. All I would have to do is pay a registration fee of $250 and they will send me the $9,000 with the $250. I really do need the money but I told him that I didn’t even have the $250. After that I never received another call from them again.
