Type of a scam Identity Theft
I got a phone call today. I could not hear who they said it was as they intentionally muffled the name. They asked to speak to me. I told them I was speaking. They asked to verify my address, which they had. I told them that was me. Then they needed to "verify" my social security number, the read it over the phone and I said that is me. They then hung up. I realized what I had done and called the number back.. It is an automated "survey" company that wants to give free trips. I want to let people know that this is out there. I was not thinking and was surprised they had all the info so I confirmed it. I am very worried about identity theft. They have my info but also could have a recording of me saying "yes" and confirming my info.
