Type of a scam Online Purchase
Scammer poses a vehicle for sale online (in our case a Meyers Manx Buggy). They claim/pose as Alex Webb (real person) who works for National Geographic (Alex Webb is a photographer for NatGeo). They send an email, which is attached, saying to wire the funds to be held in escrow until shipment is complete. If we accept the vehicle, the funds will be released.
The car was never real, nor were we talking to the real Alex Webb.
You can log into their website, logistic-and-shipping.com and use our tracking number: ex14712570858un to see that the vehicle "traveled" from Dallas, TX to Tucson AZ.
When the vehicle "arrived" in Tucson, AZ on their tracking map, the shippers tried to claim that there were additional fees and so on to collect. That’s when we realized it was a scam. The scammers attempted to contact me via facebook and email.
Communication between the two of us has stopped since.
