Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Received envelope stamped from Madrid, Spain with no return address. Inside was a letter and a check for $1998.37 claiming to be from Walmart. The letter stated that I was selected to participate in a secret shopper program and would be paid for completing assignments, user ID and password for their website given at the bottom. Checked with the Wells Fargo branch on the check and confirmed that it was fake.
