Type of a scam Travel/Vacations
I received a call from Christopher John Hughes with Evergreen Equity Investments asking if I was interested in selling my timeshare in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico. He had detailed information about the timeshare I own. He said they charge 8% commission which they take out at the closing. I did not talk to him for long, but I told him to go ahead and send me their proposal as this was the second such offer in a week. It has not arrived in my email yet.
Having just decided the similar offer was probably a scam, I tried calling the number he called me from, which is the same number shown on their website to get additional information. It was answered by an IVR (interactive voice response) system that indicated to press 0 if I did not know the extension of the person I was calling. I pressed 0 and it took me back to the IVR which this time the only option was to leave a message. I tried again and there does not seem to be a way to a hold of a real person. I will not respond or answer calls from them again.
