Type of a scam Tech Support
First time on my new computer and got a pop up message to call 1-888-636-4354 that my computer was in danger for my personal information to be hacked and Identity theft. I thought it was something built into the new computer but it wasn’t, it was a hacker! They said I was hacked because I didn’t have network security. They claimed to be sub contracted under Microsoft but they weren’t. They wanted to sell me protection by buying their security, $149.99 for one year, 199.99 for 2 years coverage and &299.99 for a lifetime secure coverage. They then do a remote "fix" to your computer that was just hacked (most likely by them) and claim they are cleaning it up and removing any viruses or problems that created the pop up. Found out they were hackers after calling the HP help desk. HP claimed there is no sub contractor for Microsoft, had never heard of this company and there isn’t such a thing as a life time protection device out there!
Don’t be scammed by these people!!
