Type of a scam Employment
On 4/1/16 I responded to a job advertisement for an "Admin Asst/Office Manager" in Jacksonville, FL. The response came by from: Esther Peters . It explained that Estie Peters had started a wedding gown business and needed to hire a person to manage the new office and take payments from customers. It also asked that I confirm personal information again which included my name, address, age, email addresses, etc. The email stated that the person hired needed to be honest, loyal and professional and could be trusted with finances. The salary would be $700 a week, based on performance. I responded confirming my information which was already on my resume, besides my age. The next morning I got another email rewarding me the job. As a first task I would need to cover the balance of the new gowns to come in next week. I would be sent a check which would include part of my salary for the week. At that point I knew it was a scam. In my response email containing my personal information, I asked if they would please call me on the cell number listed if they were interested. Who hires someone without talking to them? All the honesty and loyalty needed was to protect the scam. Once again, please beware of the gmail address "Esther Peters " that is posting positions on Craigslist.
