Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan
I was contacted by this company several times by phone. In the first call, I was told that the minimum amount I had to borrow was $5000. I explained I did not want to borrow that much and that I was not interested. They called back a week later. After the first call, I did some research on this company and on phone scams in general. I was them somewhat prepared and so out of curiosity I allowed them to send me their offer and loan application including a "User’s Manual".
In the second call, I let the gentleman, Frank, tell me a little bit about his program. I asked him point blank if he was going to require any money from me up front. He said no, but after I was "approved" my account would be given to an attorney who would manage my account and I would owe the attorney a fee for this service. I stopped the conversation at this point and told him I believed he was running a scam and I wanted no part of it. I may have made some disparaging remarks about his morality and how his company should be ashamed of itself for taking advantage of people like me who live on a fixed income. I told him to put me on his no-call list and to never call me again.
I will be happy to forward the email and documents I was sent. Thak you for helping protect of us since apparently, our federal government no longer has any interest in consumer protection.
