I recieved a collections bill for $234.19 for Comcast Cable Communications, LLC a company I have not had any relationship with for nearly 8 years. I have never received bills from Comcast for this, nor any other form of communication from anyone else. I believe this is a scam.

I get calls daily for the past month at least if not longer sometimes up to 3 times a day. They tell me they have a personal business matter to discuss with me but to confirm who I am need me to give them my date of birth and last four digits of my social security number. I have refused and they say that they have the information in front of them and if I felt more comfortable I could give them a few different random numbers and one that’s right and they will be able to tell it’s me by the right one. I have refused. I was told attempts to contact me by mail have been made and failed and I told them to try again because I have the same address but I do not give my address to them to confirm. I have not received any mail. They give me a name of the company and tell me to Google them and then give me a 1800 number to call them back. They are not using that number when they call. I received one voice message from them when I did not answer that was threatening and saying if I did not call them back there has been a warrant issued for my arrest. They apologized in the voicemail for sounding frustrated but excused it with that they have had little time and it’s come out of nowhere and they are tired of not being able to reach me. They can be very mean on voice mail but in talking with them they stay sweet so as to not give off red flags and hope you call them back I’m assuming. I am tired of them calling me all the time and have asked to be contacted by mail but the calls have increased since then. Always a woman so far that calls but never the same one.

I received multiple calls from a Kentucky number without no voicemails. When I called back they said I had a fraudulent account with Dish Network. When I asked for an account number they wouldn’t give it to me and insisted I pay. When I called Dish they said my account ended in good conditions.

Many times a week I get Robo calls from ERC, a debt collection agency. Phone number 800 670 8138 Ref 173006225. I do not have any debt. It reminds me of the fake IRS phone calls that I almost got into a few years ago.

A call came in from 253-292-9832 indicating they were from ERC and paypal had referred us to them for collections and to call back 800-882-9434 to pay. I called paypal and was not sent to collections and have a zero balance and to report this as a scam.

They called my number but didn’t answer. I called back (It’s a work cell line). The person on the line told me they were ERC, a collection agency. I asked what they were and why they were calling. He spoke broken english and mentioned they are ERC a collection agency. He then asked for my social security several times and I abruptly disconnected from the line when I realized what he was asking for.
