Type of a scam Rental
Rental advertisement posted 6/12/18 for studio at $920 per month, 1 year lease. Address 638 Denby Street, San Diego, CA. I inquired via email to post with quick response and application attached. I called and spoke with a woman called Sarah Lee. She seemed informed about the area and genuine. However, against my gut feeling, I preceeded with the application. They required two paystubs, bank statements and copy of identification. I provided one statement, and blacked out my account number. I provided the last four of my social security number and my paystubs are plain and generic, doesn’t provide wages breakdown or my social security number. I called two days ago, leaving a message with no call back. I got whoever it was I spoke with immediately, but after I questioned the selection process for one unit and faxed the information, no response or call back on what happens next. My lesson learned for not following my gut and not researching the information on the application first.
I am sorry you were not satisfied with our rental process. The San Diego area is very short on rental inventory causing hundreds of calls and application submissions when a unit is available, our apologies if we did not get back to you.
