Type of a scam Investment
A man calling himself Michael /Douglas Grinnell purported to be from an investment co that helped people facing foreclosure. He promised that he would be able to protect me from foreclosure while eliminating a good portion of what I owed. He said he had a relationship with the loss mitigation dept of BOA & that his office was right near them. I looked up the company & they had no complaints on the bbb website. He seemed to know a lot about me and my situation as well as what had to be done to stop foreclosure. He was available any time I called even on the weekend. He said he had to do a lot of research which would cost but in the end I would no longer be in foreclosure & I would have what I owed greatly reduced. He even sent an official looking agreement stating that he would represent me. As I was in a desperate situation while also awaiting hurricane Irma I wired him the money. During the next week I was w/o any means of communication so I didn’t think anything was amiss. As soon as I got back my phone I started calling him only I never received a call back. Finally the phone was turned off & my money was gone. The banks on either end claimed that once a wire transfer is made the money is gone. I regret so much that I wasn’t more careful.
