Type of a scam Tech Support

A supposed Trojan Horse appeared on my computer screen. Message said to call Microsoft for help. I called the number listed. The person answering said they would help, took control of my computer. Said my firewall was compromised and I needed to purchase a new license for $399. Gave them my credit card number and signed a contract on the computer form. Someone from Epcheal LLC called Aro, a supposed technician added a bunch of stuff to my computer. It looks like what I did was pay for a lifetime security software program of tech support.

I received a full-screen message/warning on my desktop computer. The message said my PC had been infected by a virus and if I shut my computer down, I would lose vital information that makes my computer run. After lot of discussion(and I even told them at one point that I thought this might be a scam), agree for them to charge my credit card for $299.99 for 6 years of anti-virus protection. (EPCHEAL offered anti-virus protection.) I allowed the caller to have control my computer. It took about an hour for them to download their anti-virus software onto my computer. After we hung up, I looked EPCHEAL online and found it to be a legit business. But after more online research, I read a post where someone else had fallen for the same scam – that person’s story happened exactly like mine did. Now, that person’s bank account has been cleaned out and items has been charged to their credit cards. I was then convinced that the EPCHEAL deal was a scam. I have replaced my credit card and will go to my bank and change my bank account numbers. I don’t know what else to do but report the happening everywhere I can and pray.

While I was doing homework in my computer, an alert popped up saying that my computer had a virus. I was unable to exit out of anything so I call the number given. The number connected me to EPCHEAL LLC, who I now believe to be the ones who caused the virus. They hacked into my computer, downloaded software, and "fixed" my computer. They charged me $150. I later found out that this is a group of scammers who take money from your accounts secretly and take over your computers. My computer is completely ruined and they have all of my info.
