Type of a scam Employment

On about Jan. 26, 2018, I was forwarded an email with an attachment link displaying a job opportunity as a secret shopper. I clicked on link which was displayed as, "shopper" to read further into the opportunity and came upon career builder link with an ‘apply’ button. I read full article of job description then filled out my name and address and phone number and submitted it. On Feb. 12, 2018 at 8:30 am, I received a text from 281-972-4197 letting me know that my first assignment packet was being delivered to my address soon and to wait for further details. It was signed at the bottom by Eleanor Forsyth. On Feb. 24, packet was received via USPS 2-day priority mail with label showing Laura Staffin 1129 Aurora Way, Wheaton IL. 60189. On Feb 26, I received 2nd text message notifying me of delivery of packet plus tracking# 9405501699320150580875 asking me to confirmation that I had indeed received the package. The package included 1 sheet with instructions and a fake cashiers check #350012 in the amount of $998.00 from Pittsburgh Central Federal Credit Union 2601 Wexford-Bayne Road Sewickley, PA 15143. By this time, I had already done some research on mystery shoppers subject and found enough info to determine that this was just a scam.
