I received a phone call that started with messaging… Hello, Your electric company was overcharged by your 3rd party carrier. As a result you will receive a refund from your electric/gas company. Please press "1" now to receive your refund.
I pressed option "1" and was only hold for a couple of moments. then a gentleman came on the phone and started the conversation advising that he can offer me a lower utility rates. then when I asked what company he was calling from, he advised that he was calling from the payment department of the electric company. I then asked him which electric company. He advised that he was with my electric company in my area…BGE. I asked him how he come of this in formation…he went back into telling me that I was overcharged and needed to provide a refund. When I advised that I just paid my bill last week and could not have been over charged, the guy hung up.
