Type of a scam Phishing
I placed my car for sale online and received a text from someone wanting to purchase my car. The person request I use officialvinn.com, which I had never heard of and send him the report to the email address I provided above. They stated they were going to pay cash – $120K, which seemed odd to me and some letters were replaced with characters in the text. I looked up official vinn after I entered my VIN (not thinking) and it seems to be related to scam.
I advised the person I was not comfortable with using the service due to the potential scam. They stopped responding, which makes me feel more comfortable about it being a scam.
