Type of a scam Phishing
I received an email notification about an upcoming reservation at an Econo Lodge in Salt Lake City, UT. However I never made such a reservation. The email did not include a confirmation number or dates of the reservation, but did have a link titled "view trip details". I didn’t click on it for fear that it is a phishing scam. They also had a toll free number listed. Instead of calling that number, I searched online and found that the actual number for Econo Lodge is a different number. I called the toll free number I had Googled, and confirmed that there is no Econo Lodge at the address listed in the email. They gave me the number to the only Econo Lodge in Salt Lake City, and I called to confirm I had no reservation there. I wonder if the number listed in the email was also part of the phishing scam.
