Type of a scam Phishing
I received a postcard from "Marketing Research, Eco Outreach" that claimed that it would send me a $20 Amazon.com gift card in exchange for completing a very short survey and returning the postcard. The postcard looked professional and the return postage was paid. However, the websites that were listed ("www.sustainablechattanooga.com/amazon" and "www.sustainableknoxville.com/amazon") were not found, and led to a company that had no knowledge of the marketing research campaign. The information requested included demographic information, full address, phone number, and signature. In addition, the postcard indicated that the survey must be returned within "72 hours". I did not return the postcard, so I am unsure whether the scam was primarily phishing in nature, or whether there would have been further attempts to collect money.
