I purchased two online textbooks through this company using two separate transactions. The first transaction resulted in an order completion page on their website with a download link (which worked) for my textbook. However, the second transaction resulted in an order completion page with NO download link. I checked their policies page to find that this is a common issue, but that they will send me a link within 24-48 hours to download the book. That being said, I never received a confirmation email to begin with, so I am not surprised that that link never came through.
I then contacted them using their online messaging system via Facebook Messenger and received an automated message that told me they would contact me within a few hours. They never contacted me.
What is most concerning is that the website offers up two phone numbers and two addresses; a US contact in New York, NY and a UK contact in Ireland. I called the US number and spoke with a woman on the phone to find out that it was a personal number with no relation to the company. She said she receives nearly 10 calls a day and that the company is unlawfully using her contact information on the website. I called the UK number (and was charged for international fees) to find the same thing– a fashion company with no relation to the book company who receives numerous messages a day.
Despite the fact that I received one of my books, I question whether I was given this book license legally. I doubt that I will ever hear from this fraudulent company and everyone should be warned that this website is a scam!
