Type of a scam Identity Theft
My husband and I have a small LLC we run, Durmo Digital LLC that is registered in the state of Colorado. We do not have a website and are working on an App but don’t currently have an online presence. My husband and I also have fulltime employment at corporations. I recently received a threatening email to my work and via Facebook claiming that Durmo DIgital LLC was not picking up their phone, or returning emails regarding a refund that needed to be processed. They threatened to call my employer if I did not respond. We also had a man show up at our house explaining that some guy was claiming to be Durmo Digital and selling refurbished phones to African businesses. This was incredibly alarming and confusing so I did some research and found that a fraudulent company has essentially taken our online identity. They have created a fake website and used our business address/PO box that we initially registered the company under. This is the fraudulent website: http://www.durmo-digital.com/. We need to get this website taken down immediately and I’d like to understand what steps I need to take to get away and disassociate myself, my husband, and my LLC with these scam artists. Please help ASAP.
