Phone call claiming to be Duke Energy and to inform me I was getting ready to have my power disconnected. After I gave the service address of my home, the caller said I had only 30 minutes to make a payment or my power would be shut off. He also claimed that a technician had already been dispatched and my time was running out.I believe it was a robo call that connected to a live person when I answered my cell phone.

I have received several text messages recently that say my electric bill is past due and scheduled to be cut off. I have contacted the electric company and they told me these are scams. The message wants me to make payments through their website or call the 800 number to make payments over the phone.

Called representing Duke Energy said there was a truck on the way to cancel service. Said there had been two notices sent. Asked me to go to local store and purchase a card to put cash onto and then follow instructions.

My business phone rec’d a call – it went to voice mail..This is the third time…
the message stated, "Hello, this is Crystal calling to follow up about a notice on your Duke Utility account. Please call me back immediately with the recent statement by mail at 888-399-3275.
This is a scam to get information – I don’t use Duke for energy and there is no bill.
Rec’d the same message yesterday from 856-284-0761– same message.
