Received a notice in the mail from a local attorney that I had a past due account for hospital laboratory services. While that is my hospital (Beaumont) and I’ve used their lab services, I handle their billing through the Beaumont website. The attorney’s notice included a bogus account number and a fee ($88.77) that I’ve never incurred, as well as instructions for how to remit my payment (to the attorney).
